Congratulations to the Bay State Breakers U12 Green girls who successfully defended the Girls U12 EHF ChampionshipCongratulations to the Bay State Breakers U12 Green girls who successfully defended the Girls U12 EHF Championship by beating the Middlesex Islanders 3-0. The game was a nail-biter as the teams were tied 0-0 with about six minutes left in the third period. The Breakers controlled the game, but could not put one past the Islander goalie. Suddenly, while killing a penalty, Bay State Breaker Georgia Leahy stole the puck from the Islander defender at center ice, raced down the middle of ice, and beat the Islander goalie with a rocket shot to the top shelf, glove side. The Breakers leading scorer, Samantha Davis, finished the Islanders off by quickly burying a second goal on a tremendous individual effort. The Breakers goalies were outstanding, as always, only allowing two goals in the entire playoffs. The U12 Green girls finished the season on top of the EHF with an 11-1 record.
The U12 Green’s toughest opponent in the playoffs was the Bay State Breakers U12 White Team who battled hard all game to fall 3-1 to the U12 Green. Earlier in the playoffs, the U12 White defeated the Bridgewater Bandits 5-3.
