EHF Rules
In an effort to help keep players, coaches and parents better informed of the rules of the EHF we have decided to post a general summary of league rules. If you are unsure about a league rule please contact your orgainzations director. All coaches should confer with your director before playing any non league games or having a new player play or practice with your team.
NCAA Rules- The EHF follows the NCAA rules except that there is no checking at the Mite or Squirt levels. This season there were several changes made to the NCAA rule book. Below are a few of the changes that you will notice:
- Face off location: After a stoppage of play on a penalty, the faceoff will be held in the defensive zone of the offending team.
- Net dislodged by defensive team: When the net is dislodged by a defending player and a penalty is not called on that player for dislodging the net, the defensive team is not allowed to substitute players.
- Fighting: A punch thrown may be considered fighting.
- Icing: The offending team is not allowed to substitute players.
- Offsides: A puck shot on goal in a tag up situation does not need to result in a whistle. If the puck goes in the net during a tag up situation the goal will not count.
- The EHF will not settle ties via the shootout.
